Bedtime

I am a girl of routine. It makes my day go so much better when I stay on a schedule.  Every night right before bedtime I try to read a couple of books to them. I love when I have read a book enough times to Tayslee she can look at the pages and remember the story and then she will tell Lola and I the story!  I had to snap a few photos of this sweet moment!

These are pictures of Tayslee reading "Forget me Not" to Lola and I.

Lola's 1st Birthday!

I can't believe my baby is 1! Lola has been the Dream Baby. She is such a sweetheart. She is so much like her Daddy it's crazy,  to her amazing blue eyes to her very calm disposition. She has made me less of a helicopter parent because of her easy going personality and I can't thank her enough for that. She is such Mommy's girl and I love it especially because Tayslee is a Daddy's girl!

I tried to make Lola's birthday special. When I think of 1st birthdays I think of spending it with lots of family and since I don't have any here I tried to make it a good day for both Lola and I! After all 1st birthdays are more for Mommy as well! :)

We started out our week of birthday celebrations by going to Sweet Lola's. It was the best frozen yogurt, Ive ever had and I'm also pretty sure it was Lola's favorite as well! :) And with the name, how could I not go there for Lola's Birthday?

I don't think she was so sure about the balloons everywhere.
Pancakes with sprinkles!
Opening a few presents, with the help of Tayslee of course!
Birthday Day Girl! (Smash cake pictures coming soon!)
What a great way to celebrate her 1st Birthday by going to the Circus? Ok, maybe she didn't like the clowns?
Ps.
If you can't tell Lo was a little sick on her birthday! :(

4th of July!

I have said this once and I will say it again, not everything is bigger in Texas. The 4th of July celebrations are nothing like Utah's. Which is VERY surprising after all, this is Texas and a very prideful state. There 4th of July celebrations aren't anything special. We did go to a "better" parade this year than last year but again there was not even 1 float. I also learned that you don't have to even be 5 minutes early and you can still get a shady spot and a front row parking spot for the parade as well! Who knew you didn't have to camp out all night long to get the best spot? At least they threw out enough candy that the kids stopped picking it up because they had enough of it!  We did however had a really great 4th with bbq-ing and playing games with our friends and am so grateful for them! We ended the night watching firework shows over the water!
Since this is one of my favorite holidays I can't let it pass without saying how grateful I am for the freedom that I have in this country and for all the men and women who fight for our freedom as well, I am forever grateful!

All the Patriotic Kiddos!
This is the extent of their floats. A wave runner decorated, throwing out left over Mardi Gras beads!
Lena and Lola.

Petting Zoo!
Tayslee was in heaven riding the horses!

Lolo being a grump. No nap will do that to you!
All good things must come to an end!
